Overview

The majority of on-the-job accidents and injuries are ultimately determined to be the result of unsafe acts by employees. Common unsafe acts are explored in this training; including poor lifting techniques, poor cutting techniques, failure to report broken equipment, failure to use personal protective equipment, taking shortcuts, disregarding established safety procedures, inattention to the job at hand, and outright negligence.

The importance of an accident investigation and follow-up safety counseling, as well as documentation of such counseling, is also emphasized. Nearly every industrial accident can be prevented, especially if employees practice the principle this video drives home: Think safety first.
