Overview

This training course on self protection is the third module in a four-part program for hospital personnel who may have to deal with mass casualty incidents. The course provides detailed information on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce exposure and injury.

Hospital personnel dealing with chemical, radiological, biological or physical threats should use the correct PPE, allowing them to safely and effectively do their job. This course covers how contamination works, respiratory protective devices, types of protective clothing and using PPE. Personnel will see how to keep equipment in good working condition, follow work procedures and manage potential heat stress.
