Overview

Stormwater: MS4s Stormwater Pollution Prevention: Complete Program

Municipal separate storm sewer system operators, or MS4s, must protect our land and water system by preventing runoff pollution. Runoff pollution occurs when industrial chemicals are applied outdoors and mix with rain waters or when chemical containers with rain/snow build-up are drained. Improper training may result in land and water damage, as well as damage to your company's public reputation. Violations in standards can also result in fines and expensive litigation.

This complete program addresses the 12 best management practices (BMPs) of MS4s. The BMPs include housekeeping and spill prevention, spill control and response, vehicle fueling and maintenance, vehicle washing, materials management, waste management, municipal facility maintenance, parking lots and streets, storm drain system cleaning, landscaping, and working over or near surface waters.

Proper employee training helps preserve the quality of our water and your firm's reputation for respecting the land upon which you work.
