Falls: Fall Protection in Construction Environments

Working above ground may seem inherently dangerous, and a worker's sense of safety may be diminished when working high above the ground, but by exercising common safety procedures and being cautious, the risk of injury is greatly reduced. There are individual aspects of protection you are responsible for, but your company should also have a fall protection plan in place. By watching this training video, you learn safety fundamentals, as well as how to follow a typical fall protection plan.

There are numerous ways to increase your level of safety. Some, in fact, may seem surprisingly simple. For example, when you are climbing a ladder, make sure to always have three points of contact between you and the ladder, and make sure to inspect every rung as you climb.

The first line of defense against any potential hazard you may encounter at the workplace is always you. Safety should always be your top priority, and you should never take your safety, or the safety of those around you, lightly. You should always know the right Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, to wear, and you should always know the details of your company's fall protection plan.
