Overview

Being injured on the job may cause industrial workers tremendous hardship from lost wages and temporary or permanent health problems. Worse, there is the real possibility a worker could die as a result of the misuse of machine safeguards. An injured employee costs their company in valuable production time lost, and potentially the loss of a skilled employee.

This Video On Demand training course demonstrates the basics of machine safety, such as how to identify hazardous machine parts, how to eliminate barriers to good safety guard practices and the types of safety guards now on the market. For example, workers learn a “fixed” guard is commonly designed as a protective cage or plastic shield, while the “Interlock guard” uses electric sensors that won't run unless the guard is in place.

Use this online training video to teach workers the importance of understanding machine guards, using safety devices and wearing hand protection to prevent accidents when working with machinery.
