Respiratory Protection: To The Point

There are a lot of hazards at work that, if not carefully managed or mitigated, can cause serious injury to ourselves and others. Some of those hazards cannot be seen, such as airborne pathogens and dangerous chemicals that, if inhaled, could result in a laundry list of incredibly serious or even deadly medical and health complications. Luckily, using the appropriate protective equipment allows us to safely work around airborne contaminants. This course’s primary goal is to address protecting one’s respiration with the help of respiratory protection.

This course demonstrates the need for and use of several different types of respirators, including dust masks, particulate filter respirators, chemical cartridge respirators, powered-air purifying respirators and atmosphere-supplying respirators. The course continues to show employees how to conduct user seal checks, follow basic respirator safety precautions, and properly clean and store their respirators.

This course should be used at all levels of your organization, especially among those who work directly with contaminants, agents and pathogens, and by those who supervise the work, so everyone can understand the vital need for respiration protection in the workplace.
