Bloodborne Pathogens

Though nobody wants to talk about it, Bloodborne Pathogens are extremely serious and can lead to a myriad of problems like illness/injury and litigation if not handled appropriately. To keep workers safe, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has developed standards around Bloodborne Pathogens. This course seeks to simplify information around the hazards and proper handling of bloodborne pathogens.

Without utilizing appropriate safeguard measures, a bloodborne pathogens exposure can result in illness, litigation, and other serious consequences. The course provides an overview on bloodborne pathogens, discusses the importance of an exposure plan, routes of entry, critical precautions everyone must take, disposal and infection of contaminated materials, and the methods by which an organization should respond to an exposure.
