Overview

Electrical workers are among the most at-risk regarding hazards and injuries resulting from lack of safe work practices. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E standard is recognized for establishing best practices for electrical safety in a dedicated effort to educate qualified electrical workers on key safety areas. This course explains the updates and changes in the 2018 70E with a special emphasis on the two main electrical hazards; shock hazard and arc-flash hazards.

This course begins by clearly defining each of the elements and principles necessary for an electrical worker to be deemed qualified and then shows the qualified worker best practices and procedures for safety. These areas include: approach boundaries for shock protection, arc-flash boundaries, arc-related clothing, arc-flash hazard PPE categories, equipment field labels, establishing and verifying an electrically safe work condition, energized work, and the energized work permit.

Present this course to electrical workers to help ensure they are qualified and educated in best practices for electrical safety.
