Overview

One of the main reasons man overboard incidents occur, is the lack of training and communication happening prior to work. This training program introduces safety, prevention, and communication into whatever program is already in place.

In this course, the viewer learns to identify the factors contributing to overboard-type incidents, as well as prevention techniques and practices. Personal safety is a focus of this training course, so survival techniques are looked at for those who are at risk of becoming man overboard victims. Proper clothing and breathing techniques are shown to make sure the viewer is prepared for the safest situation possible. Professional safety is also discussed, and the viewer is shown how to illustrate and instruct wheelhouse and deck personnel on how to be prepared and efficient when dealing with man overboard recovery techniques. As communication between crew members is one of the most important prevention and rescue techniques, training drills are demonstrated to ensure the safety and proper recovery of everyone in the crew.

A short quiz follows each section of this training and gives the viewer a detailed review of the material. This video is perfect for those working near inland waterways.
