Overview

This training emphasizes the importance of taking care of the environment. However, the truth is mistakes can be made. This interactive video presentation informs the “Person in Charge” how to take the right precautions when transferring fuel on waterways, and what to do in the case of a spill. Although these types of spills are often small compared to crude oil spills, they still must be properly handled to protect the environment. The cost of cleanup and legal and environmental reasons for coastal regulations is discussed in this course.

The training is divided into the following major sections; Environmental Stewardship, Laws and Regulations, PIC- Responsibilities and duties, DOI-Requirements for transfer, and Commitment to Spill Reduction. Within each section there is live-action video, and at the end of the sections there is a quiz.
