Oilfield Hazard Recognition and Occupational Health

Oilfield work poses its own special hazards. This training focuses on the three-step job safety analysis processes to identify hazards and plan safety practices to control them. Behaviors, postures and conditions that are likely to lead to back injuries are explained. Causes of sprains and strains are explored along with hazards of working with vibrations and the repercussions of poor posture, sudden jerks and slips, trips and falls. Viewers learn techniques for avoiding back and neck injuries by maintaining a neutral posture, proper warm-up and posture relief exercise and safe lifting techniques. A thorough review of the safety procedures for working at heights helps employees work safely and avoid catastrophic injury. Proper construction, inspection and use of scaffolding are a primary focus. Causes of objects dropped from heights are revealed and preventive steps are explained.
