Video On Demand (VOD) Courses
Video On Demand (VOD) courses are the pay per play version of a typical DVD training course. VOD courses are usually composed of a single video, containing the entire instructional presentation of the course.
Every VOD course features a topical index, displayed to the side of the video at all times.
Most VOD courses end with a basic quiz, using "learning focused" strategies to help ensure teaching points are understood and remembered.
Some VOD courses provide additional resources such as downloadable workbooks and job aids.
All VOD courses provide large images that are very sharp when viewed in a normal video window. Full screen display sizes are provided that deliver very good audio and video quality, even when projected or displayed on HDTV screens.
VOD courses use a hybrid-technology we call “topic buffering,” which incorporates a progressive download strategy (versus file streaming). This results in a significant reduction in the kind of playback disruptions characteristic of congested, high-traffic internet connections. Our “topic buffering” technique reduces the number of occurrences of disruptions, and allows you to have more control over the few disruptions that do occur. When you experience a disruption it is focused on the moment separating topics, allowing you to manually pause for buffering and eliminate distracting pauses from happening mid-chapter.
All VOD courses can be viewed in the popular web browsers including, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. VOD courses play on all desktop computers, smart phones, and tablets.
