Driving: Special Driving Conditions

Professional drivers face many hazardous driving conditions and situations. This safety training video gives pointers on driving in foggy or snowy conditions, on wet or icy roads, and through construction zones, parking lots, and delivery areas.

This course emphasizes the importance of being informed about weather and traffic conditions. Drivers are encouraged to check the weather forecast before leaving home. Once on the road drivers can stay informed by tuning in to local radio weather reports, or listening to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio, which broadcasts weather information 24/7 and requires a special but inexpensive radio. Drivers can also get weather updates at truck stops and by talking with other drivers on their CB.
