Overview

With the increase of chemical usage throughout our society we must be prepared to handle chemical related accidents. This training video shows hazardous materials emergency responders the proper actions they should take to stay safe when handling incidents.

Viewers are given an overview of the properties and behavior of chemicals. This course also explains NFPA 704, a standard system developed by the National Fire Protection Association for identifying the fire hazards of materials. This numbering system shows the severity of the hazard, with four being the most severe and zero meaning no hazard, and provides information concerning the flammability, reactivity, and health hazards associated with the material. Viewers are shown where to find information and assistance when dealing with chemicals, and are urged to refer to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Watch this training course to learn the importance of identifying hazardous materials, using proper response techniques, and other valuable safety information.
