Orientation: New Employee Safety Orientation and Training

In 1971, an organization was created with the intention of helping employers and employees create and maintain a safe work environment. That organization was OSHA. This training introduces many OSHA safe work practices and standards to help you reduce the risk of injury at your workplace; this video will give you not only the knowledge of how to create a safe working environment, but also how to cope with dangerous situations should they occur.

There are many different types of personal protective equipment, or PPE. Hardhats, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, and gloves are all kinds of PPE. Your employer will educate and train you on the PPE you need for your job and how to properly use them; according to OSHA, every employee has the right to this knowledge.

OSHA also requires every worker know the potential hazards they may be exposed to at their work environment. Many employees interact with hazardous material and chemicals, so understanding the dangers associated with the materials present at your workplace is integral to maintaining a safe work environment. Learn the correct methods for identifying and dealing with the dangers specific to your workplace, as well as how to reduce your potential chance of exposure through good housekeeping practices.
