Overview

Laboratory Safety: GHS Safety Data Sheets in Laboratories

As a laboratory worker you are familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets and how difficult it can be to find and understand the information. The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) was adopted by OSHA to provide workers around the world with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) that are easy to navigate and understand.

This training course teaches lab employees how to read and use the information on GHS Safety Data Sheets. Viewers are shown what information an SDS includes, and how it's formatted. GHS SDS's explain hazards associated with materials, what to do in an emergency, precautions to take when working with the material, and other important information about the material.

Watch this training video to learn how GHS SDS's were designed with your safety in mind.

This course has been updated to include GHS container labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for GHS compliance.
