OSHA General Industry: Personal Protective Equipment

Industrial workers are exposed to a variety of workplace hazards and this video training explains the role personal protective equipment (PPE) plays in protecting employees from these hazards. It emphasizes how PPE is the last line of defense against workplace hazards. The video training discusses employer responsibilities, establishing a PPE program, the types of eye protection and face shields, head protection and hard hats, hearing protection, foot protection and what types of footwear are appropriate for electrical workers, various types of hand protection and body protection.

This video emphasizes the need for engineering and work hazard control strategies to minimize employees’ exposure to workplace hazards, and how PPE integrates into those strategies. A quiz tests employees’ understanding of the video’s key points.

Provide this video training to new employees and to employees who are transitioning to different job tasks and responsibilities to ensure they are aware of the proper PPE to use to work safely and productively.
