Active Listening Skills

Do you ever find yourself hearing, but not really listening? Does the message go in one ear and out of the other? Learn to identify and eliminate barriers to listening with this online training video on active listening skills.

Hearing is passive, listening is not. In order be an active listener you must do so consciously. This Video On Demand training program explains hearing opposed to listening, why it is so easy to become distracted and tips on how to eliminate identified barriers. Tips include ways to focus on the speaker, alternatives to daydreaming, putting yourself in the speakers shoes, taking note of non-verbal cues, being alert, using memory aids and engaging with the speaker.

As a result of this active listening skills training program learners are capable of participating in effective two-way communication which improves one-on-one and group interactions.
