Managing When: Criticizing A Team Member’s Work

An employee’s performance has dipped, they have upset a customer, or you are not pleased with the quality of their work. All of these scenarios are easy to imagine, and getting that employee back on track is an essential part of your job as a manager. So what do you say? After all, an employee who feels they are being attacked will not be receptive to what you are saying, and may not fully understand what the problem is or what you want to do about it. This Managing When: Criticizing A Team Member’s Work course illustrates how to have a productive conversation focused on the facts, instead of a personal attack.
