Although employers are responsible for assessing potential workplace hazards and providing personal protective equipment (PPE), it is the employee’s responsibility to wear the equipment. This safety training refresher course explains the most common types of PPE, and when they should be used.
This course reviews the different types of PPE, such as hardhats, safety glasses or goggles, protective footwear, gloves, and specialty clothing. Depending on the type of protection needed, viewers are shown what should be worn. For example, a variety of specialty clothing was designed for specific purposes: flame resistant clothing should be worn when working near electrical equipment, or when welding. Viewers are also given a refresher on respiratory and hearing protection.
