This course helps you meet the December 1, 2013 OSHA training deadline to train on GHS, if you have already had HazCom training. Anyone in the manufacturing, transportation, and processing industries, as well as government individuals who wish to gain a further understanding of the Hazard Communication Rule and the Globally Harmonized System. This course provides supplemental training for someone trained on Hazard Communication, who is in need of GHS training.
New hires who have not received training under the old HazCom rules, should take the companion course "Understanding GHS HazCom (Version 1B)" rather than this version.
This training video focuses on how the Hazard Communication Rule is affected by the Global Harmonization System (GHS), the system in which all hazardous chemicals are categorized, described, and outlined for employers. Data sheets, shipping labels, and several changes within GHS identifiers are discussed in this video. The six label elements for all GHS containers are explained, including a product identifier, a signal word, hazard statements, pictograms, precautionary statements, and the identity of the chemical supplier. Because this video is focused on the viewer, this training features easy to follow narration and live-action video examples.
To ensure the details are understood, this training is followed by an interactive quiz. This instructional training video is a must for anyone working daily with hazardous chemicals.
