Welding Safety

Welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering are common tasks in a wide variety of industries; in fact, every day, more than 500,000 workers perform these responsibilities. There are inherent risks associated with welding; welding and cutting cause more than 50 deaths and thousands of injuries annually. These risks can be avoided with the proper education. This training video demonstrates the specific hazards you may face and how to best prevent them. While welding might be a workplace requirement, risking serious injury or death should not be.

Some hazards, like the risk of being burned, are obvious. Some forms of welding, for example, can reach over 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The gases needed to reach these temperatures also pose an explosion risk, as do their pressurized containers. Other hazards are not as readily apparent; you may face the danger of electrocution or toxic fumes when welding. The risks themselves are varied, but all of them can pose potentially serious, or even lethal, harm. Therefore, knowing how to best prevent these dangers is so important. This course shows you how to identify when and where welding is appropriate, and how to select the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required for each job.

Welding is a necessary component of numerous jobs and industries, and you may very well have to do it often. This video-based training provides you with the tools necessary to know what dangers you face and how to best prevent them. Utilize the materials presented here and make a potentially hazardous job much safer.
