The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Part 1: Why GDPR

You likely have dealt with data protection before, but sometimes it can be difficult to discern how the information your organization collects must be protected. The General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, was created in order to help resolve this concern. The GDPR became binding in all European Union countries on May 25, 2018, and already has had a significant impact on companies worldwide. In this first of a four-part series, you are introduced to the essential elements of the GDPR in practical terms. The GDPR applies to data specifically attributed to a natural person, and this course explains the implications of that definition.
