Overview

This training course on patient decontamination is the final module in a four-part program for hospital personnel who may have to deal with mass casualty incidents. Emergency responders may not be able to decontaminate all victims leaving the scene of a mass casualty incident, therefore hospital personnel need to be prepared with a mass casualty decontamination system. Having a system in place will protect the victims and the hospital personnel and facility from further contamination.

The Joint Commission requires hospitals to have means for radioactive, biological and chemical isolation and decontamination. Use this course to provide employees with the skills to recognize contaminated patients, engage in pre-incident planning, implement the decontamination process and deal with post-decontamination procedures.

Prepare employees to work in a mass decontamination operation and meet JCAHO accreditation standards with this online health and safety program.
