Overview

This training video is the third in a five part series to educate emergency responders on how best to respond to hazardous materials incidents. This video focuses on learning how to predict the behavior of uncontrolled hazardous materials and their containers, how various stressors can affect the containers, and how external factors can affect the behavior of hazardous materials. Learning how to appropriately respond to the situation, and being able to forecast the result of their response, will help responders make safer choices.

To respond safely to a hazardous material situation, a responder needs to understand how their actions can affect the process and outcome of the situation. This video explores how the different aspects of a material, its container and different responses affect the outcome.

Learning to predict the outcome when no response is made and how different responses affect the outcome will help the responder to make the best possible decisions for action in a hazardous material situation. Use this course to prepare emergency responders with the skills to help forecast outcomes during a hazmat incident.
