Hearing Protection and You - Concise Version

Employers attempt to control the noise levels in workplaces through engineering techniques, but sometimes noises cannot be brought down to safe levels. This video training explains how noise can damage hearing and how hearing loss can be gradual, although irreversible.

The use of personal protective equipment is demonstrated, including disposable and reusable earplugs, canal caps and earmuffs. This course explains how the use of baseline and reoccurring hearing tests in a medical surveillance program can help identify hearing loss, including loss induced by failing to use hearing protection at home. Signs and symptoms of hearing loss are discussed to help raise awareness of symptoms.

This video is appropriate for anyone who works in a noisy environment, or who uses loud power equipment, such as lawnmowers or saws, at home. Use this course to help your employees protect their hearing through safe work practices and the use of PPE.
