Improper ergonomics, or subjecting parts of your body to awkward positions can put you at risk for developing a musculoskeletal disorder. Repetitive job tasks, poor workstation setups, awkward postures, and improper lifting techniques are all ways you can cause yourself these injuries. Reducing the frequency and severity of these disorders is the purpose of this training lesson. Learn the various ways to mitigate your risks, as well as what factors increase them, though the materials provided in this course.
For example, using proper work practice controls in both an office and industrial setting can help prevent these kinds of injuries from occurring. Ensuring you are using the correct personal protective equipment, or PPE, also helps reduce the likelihood of an injury. Ultimately, when ergonomic risk factors are properly controlled, ergonomic related injuries can be prevented. It is important to understand what those injuries entail and to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms. This course demonstrates all the above, as well as knowledge regarding specific practice controls for certain parts of the body, including the neck and back, arm and shoulders, and hands and wrists. Finally, the course also shows proper lifting and carrying techniques.
Utilize the materials provided in this training lesson and learn how to reduce the risk of suffering a musculoskeletal disorder.
