Overview

Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls: To The Point

Many workplace injuries are caused by falling. Some of the leading causes of workplace falls are from wet and slippery floors, improper footwear, and not paying attention. This online training course explains how to prevent slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

Viewers are shown the importance of maintaining balance, and learn about the three main factors contributing to a loss of balance: gravity, friction, and momentum. For example, if there is a loss of friction, or traction, our feet slide out from under us and cause a loss of balance. This course explains how wearing appropriate footwear helps to maintain traction on walking surfaces, alerts viewers to substances that can cause slippery floors, such as metal shavings and sawdust, and shows how to be cautious while walking through work areas.

Watch this online safety training course to learn how slips, trips and falls can be prevented.
