DOT Cargo Securement

Improperly loaded or secured cargo can create serious hazards not only for the truck and driver but for other vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians. This course teaches employees how to prevent these hazards by securing cargo per DOT regulations.

In this course, created to meet employee training regulations of specific DOT regulations, employees learn about the DOT’s Cargo Securement Standard regulations and the importance of compliance. Covering each aspect of the Cargo Securement Standard, the following four topics show employees why and how to be compliant: The DOT Cargo Securement Standard; Securement Systems; Working with Load Limits; and Loading and Restraining Cargo.

Present this course so all employees have a basis for understanding how cargo needs to be loaded and fastened down to ensure it stays put when the truck is on the road.
