Overview

Hazard Communication In Transportation And Warehouse Environments

OSHA’s Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) Standard gives employees a legal right to know about any hazardous materials they can encounter in their workplace. This course assists all transportation and warehouse workplaces in complying with this regulation, which was most recently updated in 2024.

Formally established as the Hazard Communication Standard, this OSHA regulation requires employers and HAZMAT suppliers to ensure all workers who handle hazardous materials have the information they need to safely work with them. By thoroughly explaining the three main sources of HAZMAT information (Safety Data Sheets, HAZMAT container labels, and a written Hazard Communication Program), this course teaches workers the purpose and importance of each of these sources and where employees should be able to access them in their workplace.

Use this course so that all transportation and warehouse environment employees who handle hazardous materials understand the dangers of exposure to hazardous materials, the importance of personal protective equipment, and how to respond to a HAZMAT spill or exposure.
