Hand and Power Tool Safety

Research shows injuries involving hand and power tools send almost a half a million people to the emergency room every year. Hand and power tools are also involved in a significant number of fatalities. Most of these incidents can be avoided with education on proper hand and power tool usage and safety.

This course shows workers the hazards associated with using hand and power tools, and the proper equipment and practices to enable them to avoid potential injuries. Use this course to teach employees who operate hand and power tools how to do the following: inspect and maintain the tools, use electrical and power tools safely, identify and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), prevent kickbacks, and reduce hazards in the work area.
