Loading Dock Safety

Loading docks may seem interesting, and they are a sign of a thriving business operation. However, they are not to be taken lightly. Statistics from Industrial Safety & Hygiene News report 25% of all industrial accidents occur at the loading dock, and for each accident that occurs, there are about 600 near-misses. Loading docks are flooded with potential danger, and without the proper training, procedures, equipment and maintenance they are liable to deliver disaster at every turn.

This course bridges that gap so everyone is on the same page when it comes to exercising safety precautions using sound judgment and personal protective equipment (PPE), and demonstrating situational awareness on and around loading docks. The course covers safe working procedures, preventing injuries, handling equipment, and docking transport vehicles.

Use this course to train those who work directly on the loading dock and for those who supervise this work to facilitate safe working conditions around the hustle and bustle of the loading dock.
