Even though our country has experienced pandemics before, none have been in recent memory. For most Americans these are uncertain and unprecedented times. Every aspect of our lives is being disrupted by the coronavirus, and as we begin returning to work, we must act proactively to ensure our health is protected. After all, new research suggests the virus can live on a surgical mask, plastic, and stainless steel for seven days, on glass and money for four days, on cardboard for one day, and on paper for three hours. This training video provides you with key safety measures to help protect yourself as you return to work, and then your family as you return home from work.
Firstly, it is important to be aware but not be scared. Stress can weaken your immune system. This course details the preventive measures you should take to avoid exposing yourself to the coronavirus. This includes but is not limited to avoiding touching your face, washing your hands regularly, and sanitizing surfaces such as doorknobs and tables.
It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain a hygienic workplace. Guidance, however, starts at the top. Managers should devise an infection control policy and select an emergency planning coordinator who will communicate with your local public health department, among other responsibilities. This course instructs you how to best protect yourself and your family upon returning home from work. These are uncharted waters, but by utilizing the materials provided in this on-demand lesson you can ensure your health and safety as much as possible.
