Hazard Communication: GHS Safety Data Sheets
This training on GHS (Globally Harmonized System) Safety Data Sheets presents the safety measures for emergencies and hazards when using chemicals in the workplace. OSHA designed the Globally Harmonized System for workers with direct contact with chemicals. Hazards and safety concerns are the reason for this universal system. GHS Safety Data Sheets provide all workers with the exact steps to take to prevent emergencies, as well as what to do when emergencies or spills occur.
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and GHS Safety Data Sheets, Hazards, Emergencies, Handling Material are the major sections in this training. They cover all the necessary steps and why having Safety Data Sheets is important, as well as how finding the necessary information is organized. Prevention of emergencies is also covered. Before the final section, there is information on how to deal with ecological measures, regulations of the state and federal government in regards to chemicals, as well as toxicity. This training is intended to relay the importance of using Safety Data Sheets for chemical safety in the workplace.
