Overview

Cal/OSHA Forklift Operator Training

One hazard in many industrial workplaces is the unsafe operation of powered industrial trucks, commonly called forklifts or lift trucks. Forklift operators must be properly trained and if an employee is not trained, they should not be behind the wheel of a forklift. California OSHA requires training and certification to operate a forklift. This video training course educates viewers about Cal/OSHA forklift operator training.

This training educates viewers about pre-operation inspection procedures. This video explores lifting, carrying, and placing of loads. Viewers learn about when refresher training may be required for forklift operators. The course also covers safe work practices for operating a forklift around pedestrians and on or around loading docks and trailers.

Use Cal/OSHA Forklift Operator Training to educate your forklift drivers about best safe work practices for operating a forklift under Cal OSHA rules.

Please note, to be a certified forklift operator a driver must also have practical training. This includes hands-on instruction, live demonstrations, and practice exercises on the forklift, and cannot be done online. Evaluation of the operator's performance must be done in the workplace, and cannot be done online.
