Overview

Diversity and inclusion are hot topics these days, especially as it relates to workplace issues and questions of staffing and hiring. Today’s workforce is more diverse than ever, and in turn more primed for success. Organizations that make a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy a priority have been proven to be more successful than those who don’t. This course helps managers and supervisors, working in the government, better understand their role in the promotion of their organization’s diversity policy.

This diversity training starts by introducing the topic of diversity, then talks about why it is so important to our workplaces. The course continues to demonstrate how to determine and understand our own personal biases. Managers and supervisors are shown how to encourage respect, inclusion and establishing rapport and common ground with one another.

This course should be used primarily by those who are in managerial roles in governmental organizations. By accepting that we all have stereotypes and biases and by working toward mitigating those stereotypes through respect, inclusion and finding common ground, every manager and organization will be more successful.
