Overview

Back Safety: Exercise and Ergonomics

Back injuries can be debilitating for days, months or years, and can affect anyone in any job. This online video training explains back sprains and strains, the importance of understanding one's limits, and the role that exercise, stretching and ergonomics play in preventing back injuries.

Taking pro-active steps to prepare yourself for work is the key to preventing injury. Four basic lower back stretches are demonstrated. When performed throughout the day, these stretches can help employees keep their backs healthy. Learn ways to minimize the body's movement in the work environment so that repetitive-motion strains are prevented. With eight of 10 people likely to experience back pain or injury, taking care of the machine that earns us our living, our backs, is vitally important.

Back sprains and strains are among the most frequent and severe causes of workers' compensation claims. Equip your employees with the knowledge they need to have long, productive working lives by practicing proactive back safety.
