HAZWOPER: Haz Matters - First Response

This online training video teaches employees who work around hazardous substances the basic knowledge of how to be a first responder in the event of an accident and exposure in accordance with OSHA’s HAZWOPER regulations. This video explains to viewers about the DOT required labels on vehicles and shipping containers used for hazardous materials. Viewers also learn what should be included in their facility response plan.

This video explains to workers where they fit into the plan and what they should do in the event of a hazardous materials accident. Viewers learn about the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook, what information it contains, and how to use that information to secure the site.

There are significant differences between an emergency and a hazardous substance emergency. Employees who are educated to work around hazardous substances are the first line of defense in the event of an accident.
