Workplace Violence

In a recent report published by the Bureau of Justice Statistics from 2019, a total of 17,865 workers were victims of workplace homicides from 1992 to 2019. Workplace violence occurs in many different types of workplaces. Incidents can stem from arguments with a co-worker to a situation with a customer or vendor. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) provides concise guidance for employers on ensuring a workplace free from death and serious injury, and employers must follow the guidelines to promote safe conditions.

This course provides instruction and explanation on the importance of preventing workplace violence by first defining violence. The course discusses some of the warning signs, appropriately handling aggressive behavior, dealing with violent behavior, and developing a workplace violence prevention program.

Use this course to help your team prevent violent behavior and respond accordingly should an incident occur.
